The Cub movement

The Cub salute is a gesture of respect, made with the right hand.

It is all about helping young people grow into confident, responsible, and capable individuals. Through fun activities like camping, hiking, and community service, it teaches valuable life skills like teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

THE CUB PROMISE

 

“I promise to do my best To do my duty to God* and my country To keep the Cub Law and To do a Good-turn every day.”* The word ‘Dharma’ may be substituted for the word “God” if so desired.

 

MOTTO

 

The Cub motto is “ Be Prepared”. This has to be achieved by being physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

 

SIGN

 

The Cub sign is made with the right hand, fingers extended, thumb down across the palm, symbolizing the Cub's promise to obey the Scout Law and help others.

 

SALUTE

 

The Cub salute is a gesture of respect, made with the right hand. Here's a detailed breakdown:Position of the Hand: The right hand is raised to the forehead, with the palm facing outward.Fingers: The fingers are held straight and close together, while the thumb holds the little finger down across the palm. This ensures a clean and neat posture.: The Cub salute represents the Cub's commitment to the Scout Law and their promise to serve others. It is a symbolic gesture of loyalty, respect, and readiness to follow the Cub's ideals.Cubs typically salute when greeting a leader, during the Scout Promise, or when showing respect to others. It is also used when making a promise or taking an oath.

The Bulbul movement

The Bulbul Salute is given by raising the right arm smartly to the level of the shoulder.

The Bulbul program is where young girls begin their Scouting journey, nurturing values of obedience, politeness, and community service. The structured program encourages them to discover their potential while enjoying playful learning and fostering a spirit of cooperation.
